#215 Sneasel
2'11 Ft 61.7lbs
Sneasel is a bipedal Pokémon which vaguely resembles a mix of cat and weasel. Its body is predominantly bluish-black, but it possesses bright red feather-like growths on its left ear and lower back. Its most striking features are the two retractable claws on its front and back paws. It also has distinctive yellow markings on its face and chest. It has unusual facial markings which resemble eyelashes, which are found on both males and females. They have an agile body, and are well skilled in quick movements and intricate techniques.

How it All started....
Sneasel is the star that actually got me into the collecting Pokémon Merchandise in the first place! The kick-start for my my inspiration to begin collecting Sneasel was my boyfriend. He really liked Sneasel/Weavile and he was going to drive up-state to visit so I browsed online shopping sites such as Ebay and Amazon in order to look for merchandise for him. I found some Sneasel/Weavile items and purchased them and I gave them to him when he arrived. My presents were well-received, so I decided that I would look for more items...Annnndd....My, his, our collection began expanding from that point on!
☆Plush☆
jakks Sneasel plush
These are the only three official Sneasel plush to exist! All three were manufactured by the same company, "Jakks Pacific". The flat-faced middle plush was the first to be released in 2007. The plush on the far left was the re-release in 2008 and has more of a "muzzle" shape. The smallest plush is part of the "Jakks throw plush" series and feature a Pokémon plush with a ball. The plush was released in 2008 and is small enough to fit inside of the ball. The plush 'pops' out when you throw it.
This particular 'throw plush' is supposed to come with a Dusk Ball, however, I purchased my plush from a lot that unfortunately did not include the original Dusk Ball that the plush is packaged with.
I'm happy Sneasel was able to get plush at all, but I wish Takara Tomy would make a Sneasel plush! It would be so great!

☆Figures☆
TOMY MC Sneasel Figures
(モンスターコレクション)
The "MC" stands for "Monster Collection", which is the name of this series. This is a series of figures released by the toy company "Takara Tomy" that began in 1997. They are frequently referred to as just Tomy for short and certain Pokémon figures have clear or special versions.
The figure on the right is the common Sneasel re-released Tomy figure. It was repainted from the earlier Tomy model which adorned a darker color scheme. The figure on the left was my very first holy grail! It is a special "Movie" Tomy which was released back in 2000 with the 4th Movie, Celebi: Voice of the Forest. Mine came in a special group package with other Pokémon that can be shown Here, but there is also an individual package variant of the Tomy that includes a "Dark Ball" featured in the 4th Movie that I may go after someday.
Movie Sneasel Tomy is still one of my most prized pieces in my collection~

Sneasel kid figures
(ポケモンキッズ)
Pokémon Kids are a series of Pokémon figures that are manufactured by the company BANDAI and began in 1996 in Japan. They are hollow figures that are packaged with candy. They are often advertised as 'finger puppets' and some Pokémon figures have clear variations. Clear Kid figures are translucent and are hard to find/rare. A clear Sneasel kid exists, but I am not actively seeking it xD
The Sneasel with the tipped ear is the older Sneasel Kid Figure from 200-2001. The white ear-tip follows Sugimori's older Pokémon artwork which had "fading" on Sneasel's ear. The figure on the left is it's later re-release and Middle is the "Attack" Kid which is supposed to show off the Pokémon's attack...However it looks like BANDAI got lazy since he looks as though he's tired of fighting [put his arms down]. My story is that he retired from battles and got fat off of Pidgey eggs XD
I probably shouldn't have, but I ate the old candy...Rofl. It tasted like soda.

Sneasel V-Trainer Figure
V-Trainers are an electronic device manufactured by the company "Hasbro", that allows the player to use Pokémon figurines to battle Gym Leaders, Trainer cartridges, or another person. Most packages came with a Pokémon Figurine, an electronic V-Trainer device, a Gym Leader Cartridge, and the instructions.
Sneasel is one of the more difficult V-Trainer to find and no one has really seen one in the original package, or know what the package even looks like. On the bottom of the figure is a prong which allows you to attach the figurine to the electronic V-Trainer device to battle with.
He looks kind of weird due to his long neck, but I am happy that I was able to score one for my collection! He is definitely one of my more rarer items!

Jakks Sneasel Figure
This little guy was also manufactured by "Jakks Pacific". I say little, but he's actually pretty tall for a figure! He was released along with a long list of other Johto Pokémon when HeartGold and SoulSilver came out in order to ride the HG/SS money wave.
Although I purchased him MIP, he has a lot of weird scratches all over his body. For the overall design though, I'm pretty happy with how Jakks made him. His arms are movable too! The only negative I can think of is that arms are so amazingly skinny and I'm afraid that they may break someday if I'm not careful!

1/40 Scale GSC Zukan (立体ポケモン図鑑)
These figures are produced by Yujin and are available in small capsules. They are available in Japan and Europe either in Capsule machines or in bulk packages. They are 1/40 scale figures of the Pokémon and there is a figure available for every Pokémon that exists. This was the first zukan that Sneasel was featured in and it came in a set along with Sudowoodo and Mr. Mime.
I found this one on Ebay. My BF had the hardest time trying to set this up and ended up just having the Sneasel figure "hold" onto the peg. When I came over, I tried posing it myself, and had some problems with it as well [it was my very first zukan] but I eventually figured it out. x3

1/40 Scale DP Zukan
(立体ポケモン図鑑)
After Diamond and Pearl came out, Sneasel received it's very own evolution, therefore this evolutionary line zukan was released.
I found this for sale on a German website. I contacted the seller in Deutsch [My not very good German] and purchased one! It came in the mail a week or two later. I really love the dynamic posing of Sneasel and Weavile! Definitely one of my favorite collection pieces! (*´▽`*)

Battle museum Figure
(ポケモンバトルミュージアム)
Small but detailed figures made by BANDAI that attach to black bases. They come with stickers of the Pokémon's name, level, and other basic information. The bases can connect and the series ran from January 2000 to February 2001 making many of the figures difficult to find.
The one on the left is a damaged and aging figure I purchased, not knowing it's condition since the photo was so tiny. After I received it in the mail, I was rather disappointed so I looked for one in better condition and came across a MIP one that even came with the base and stickers!
I love me some stickers.

This Notepad of part of the same 2010 release of merchandise line from "Pokémontime". It features Sneasel on the front cover and the back as well. I'm not sure about the inside since I've never wanted to open it!
My friend from Japan sent this to me as a gift along with a Weavile pan sticker and the Sneasel Pokémontime Shirt below!

Pokémontime T-Shirt
(Pokémontimeシャツ)
This T-Shirt is of part of the same 2010 release of merchandise line from "Pokémontime". It features Sneasel Pokémontime artwork and it's Japanese name. There are also yellow stars that span along the bottom of the shirt. I had it sent to my BF's house so I unfortunately never got to see the tags it came with, but he stated that they were "plain white tags".
Since it was already de-minted, I wear these as PJs since they are far too large for me to wear regularly. I hope to find another Minty one to store only for my collection!
My friend, Kei, spoils me too much! (*´▽`*) [I owe her a fat commission for this though XD]

Pokémontime Charm Strap
(Pokémontime チャームストラップ)
This Strap is of part of the same 2010 release of merchandise line from "Pokémontime". The straps were packaged with a backing that could become a "bookmark" when taken out of the plastic, I didn't know this and accidentally threw mine away in the trash only to find out that it was a bookmark months later when it was long gone... Orz
This little guy is too cute! I love his little curious look! Mine obviously has some wear on him since I allowed my bf to wear it on his cell phone...I am now looking for a MIP one xDD Orz

Pokémon V-Trainer Pryce Cartridge
This is a Gym leader cartridge for the electronic V-Trainer devices. You can use them to battle the gym leader's Pokémon that are featured on the Cartridge.
I just had to have it since it features Pyrce's Sneasel! I actually bought a V-Trainer in order to try it out with my Sneasel Figure, however the V-Trainer died within minutes of me turning it on..... Orz *sob*

2009 Pokémon Center Dex Charm
(ポケモンセンターメタルチャーム)
This charm was part of a promotion in 2009 in Japanese Pokemon Centers for HeartGold and Soulsilver. Supposedly, every Pokémon from Gen I - Gen II was made into a charm. These charms are very popular and hard to come by now so I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to score one!
I had just begun collecting when I saw one of these appear on Ebay. I had never seen one before, so I was very excited however I did not have much to bid so I offered equally priced art commissions in return for anyone who wanted to try to bid for me. Someone agreed and bid for me and I eagerly watched the auction as the price went up and up. However, later I was informed that my commissioner had lost.
I was disappointed but I went one with my life and then a day or two later I received a message from my commissioner informing me that the seller was giving them an offer to buy it for the price that they won, since the bid winner had decided to skip out on paying since the price was so high. I was very happy and am still grateful to this person for helping me obtain this charm. Coming at around a whopping $85 USD, this is the most expensive item to date in my collection!

2011 Pokémon center dex charm
(ポケモンセンターメタルチャーム)
A sort of re-release of the 2009 Dex Charm promotion, this set featured ALL of the Pokédex, including the newly discovered Unova Pokémon.
These guys sure were a hell of a lot easier to get! I was a bit disappointed that Sneasel did not get a new pose and that Weavile received the same Dreamworld art, but I am just happy to have more Sneasel and Weavile merchandise made.

Sneasel Pokémon Center Badge
(ポケモンセンター バッジ)
Even I don't know much about this badge Orz They only thing I know is that it was released in 2008 and is rather difficult to come by now. I spent a very, very long time searching for this little badge! I only saw one for sale once, but I was too slow and it slipped right out of my hands! Now I can say for sure that I have one in my collection!
Various Battrios
(ポケモンバトリオ)
Pokémon Battrio is an arcade video game that was announced on April 11, 2007 and released on November 21, 2007 in Japan. The game requires players to move around certain pucks with Pokémon on a grid. The game is made for two player multiplayer where players will battle each other's Pokémon. Each Player can use up to three Pokémon. It is the first Pokémon title released for arcades. You can purchase Pucks at designated machines.
I purchased a few of these from a seller [for very high prices that I couldn't get lowered....] and found a Japanese seller on Ebay who I asked for a deal. Now I own all of the Sneasel and Weavile Battrios with the exception of one Weavile puck.

[Original Packaging that came with the Stamp]
Retsuden Stamps are Japanese stamps made by the Ensky company. The series has been around since Generation I. Each Retsuden Stamp features a single Pokemon and has an unscrewable base which reveals the stamp.
I found out about this stamps existance thanks to a Collecting WIKI. I decided to try googling the terms in Japanese and came across this teeny Photo of one on a JP Blog: After a year and a half, one appeared on Y!J and I bid on it. There was a little competition, but in the end I emerged victorious. I still can't believe that I won this little guy! How lucky!

Sneasel pin
(ポケモン バッジ)
I really do not know much about this guy other than I am sure that he is official. I purchased my pin from a sales post of many other pins but I believe that these pins come in little Pokéball containers.
I was very lucky to be able to pick this little guy up, as someone ahead of me was already asking for it from the seller.

Sneasel 4th movie Swing chain
(ポケモンムービーメダルスイング)
This swing chain was a promo for the fourth movie, Celebi: Voice of the Forest and that's pretty much all I know about it XD It's smaller than the Johto Swing, and the metal is a pretty silver color.

Sneasel papercraft standees
I believe that these come from different albums that contain many pages filled with various Pokémon standees that you can take out and assemble.
I believe that the larger standee was from an older Gold/Silver/Crystal Album while the smaller one is from a more recent Diamond and Pearl album.
Don't know much about these.....

This Clearfile is of part of the same 2010 release of merchandise line from "Pokémontime".
My first Pokémon clearfile! This used to be abundant and easy to get so I put off trying to obtain one since I believed that they were a little expensive; however, soon they began to disappear and when I went back to the store I had bookmarked in order to purchase one, they were all sold out! Now they are pretty hard to find other than on Y!J so when one popped up for cheap, I snagged it. I don't plan on using this in fear of damaging it, so I'll just let it sit pretty in it's wrapping forever~ |

Bromide Gum Card Stickers
These stickers are from "BROMIDE Gum", and are HUGE! The card is bigger than the normal Pokemon cards. It measures 3.25" x 4.75" (8cm x 12cm). This series was made back in 2008 and is discontinued. This series contains very many cards [some were even holofoil] and there are even some "evolutionary sets".
The evolution cards could be peeled to see the evolution of a Pokémon. If the card is an evolution card then there is a red arrow mark on the lower left corner that instructs you to peel. The upper sheet is a sticker and the lower is a card.
I got the majority of these from a flats lot on Y!J.

Pokémon Battle Top cards
I do not know much about these cards....However they are commonly referred to by English-speakers as "Versus" cards, while Japanese speakers refer to them as "TOP Battle Pokémon Cards". Each card depicts a battle between two Pokémon with one Pokémon using it's special move on the other. The attacking Pokémon's stats are shown on the back of the card.
These cards are highly popular with the most popular selling for $10 USD or more; Many are very rare due to the fact that they are more difficult to find than others, and are thus more expensive.
I really love these! The artwork for these are all so unique and cool! I need one more Sneasel and I will have all of the Sneasel Top cards to exist [within my knowledge].

sneasel Pokémon calender page
I have no idea about these....Other than the fact that these came from a Pokémon calender that contained several pages of various Pokémon and possibly their evolutions for each month of the year.
Kids figure cards & Stickers
These are various Stickers and cards that came packaged inside the box with the Kid puppet figures. Every Pokémon kid figure comes with candy and either a sticker or a card.
The yellow Sneasel sticker and Card are very difficult to find due to their age [manufactured in 2000-2001] and they came with the Older Sneasel Kid figure which adorns a white tipped ear.
These came from EVERYWHERE.

Retsuden Amada stickers
A series of Japanese stickers manufactured by the toy prize company "Ensky". They are usually blind packaged in sets, although there are sets available where you can see what Pokémon stickers are included. Some stickers have a sparkly/metallic accent.
I really love the artwork featured in these stickers. From what I know, I only need the Sneasel "Attack" Restuden stick featuring Sneasel Attacking Meowth, and I will have completed my Sneasel Retsuden Amada set!

Sneasel Pokémon TCG
(ポケモンカードゲーム)
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (Pokémon TCG) is a collectible card game based on the Pokémon video game series, first published in October 1996 by Media Factory in Japan. In the US, it was initially published by Wizards of the Coast in December 1998. Nintendo took over publishing in June 2003.
These are all cards that I received either from random lots that I bought for other items, or from friends xD I've been contemplating about whether or not to begin hunting down all of the TCG, but I think I will put it off for a little while longer.

Pan Bread Stickers
(ポケモンパン)
Pokémon Pan is a snack found in 7-11 stores around Japan, made by "Daiichi Pan". The breads are packed individually and with foil wrapped stickers, known as "pan stickers". These stickers are random and most (possibly all) Pokémon have been represented in pan sticker form. There are hundreds of different pan stickers, many which have Pokémon in rare or never-before-seen poses. Many Japanese collectors prize pan stickers and photo albums made especially for holding pan stickers are known as "Deco-Chara Seal Holders" and are very popular.
I love Pan Stickers! I'd definitely get duplicates and use them if I weren't busy using that money for new merch! Orz I only need two more Sneasels to complete my Sneasel set!

Sneasel stax/stakks magnets
I believe that these Sneasel magnets were part of a series called "Stakks" that featured various Pokémon from various Generations. These magnets were only released in Europe and are therefore harder to obtain for those who live outside of Europe.
sneasel Candy sticker
A sneasel sticker that my friend Aarux gave me! I'm not sure where it is from, but I would guess some type of candy/gum.
